Dowgill Barn is ideally situated for enjoying the Yorkshire Dales countryside and is close to the elegant spa town of Harrogate and historic York. Nidderdale is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a wealth of stunning scenery: lakes, hills moor and farmland.
Only three miles from the Barn is Brimham Rocks where the unusual rock formations can be enjoyed as a fun family walk or as a serious rock climb challenge.
Other attractions less than a 30 minute drive, include, Fountains Abbey, Studley Park, How Stean Gorge and Ripon (Ripon Cathedral, Ripon Races), in addition to the almost unlimited network of footpaths which provide great walking.
There is a great choice of eateries to cater for all tastes and styles, from Michelin starred restaurants to good pub food. With Harrogate only 10 miles away there is also the timeless attraction of Betty's Tearooms. We will be pleased to make reservations at some of our favourite places to eat if you wish.
York, with all its attractions is under an hour away and the Yorkshire Moors and more westerly Dales are also within easy reach.
